Canon FTb QL - 35mm SLR
Canon FTb QL - 35mm SLR
Released in 1971, the FTb QL succeeded the Canon FT QL and added support for the FD mount (replacing the previous FL series of lenses). While the FTb QL was launched alongside the professional F1, this model was aimed towards consumers. It did not have the more advanced features like interchangeable finders & focusing screens or motor drive support but it definitely was as solidly build. A noticeable feature here is the QL or 'Quick Load' system which made loading film easier.
The Canon FTb QL is an extremely well built 35mm SLR camera with a fully mechanical shutter with speeds up to 1/1000s. A battery is only needed to power the built-in match needle meter.

This example comes in very good shape and is definitely one of the better we've seen. It's rather uncommon for these camera to still have a working (and accurate) meter but this one is working wonderfully. Both meter and shutter speeds are well within spec. Camera comes with new light seals installed.
